Knitting stuffies/Tricoter des peluches

I've always loved stuffed animals. When I was a little girl, I had lots of them. At one point, I must have been 7, my Mom bet me I had more than 100. I said 'no way' but she was right! Santa was kind enough to push me in that direction, so much so that I even had 2 giant bears and a giant elephant! My daughter is just the same. She even sleeps with my good old elephant (she has a big bed) which is one of her favourites ever since she was born.To sum up, it was only natural that I tried to knit some stuffies for my children… and my... Baby knitting/Tricoter pour bébé

I don't know what's happened but lately, all my friends are having babies! YAY!If you know me, you well know I couldn't pass the opportunity to knit something for those lovelies. I found 2 great patterns on Ravelry and knit them out of Woll Butt Cannstatt bought from Buttinette (60% wool, 25 % viscose, 15 % nylon). The good thing about this yarn is that you can put it in the washing machine, which is a plus when you knit for babies. It is meant to be a sock yarn so it is fairly resistant. And it is soft and has lovely... [Lire la suite]

Sock collection 4

Hello, my name is Melise, and I'm a sockaholic!I love knitting socks nearly as much as I love wearing them! That's why I can't resist beautiful sock yarn or pretty patterns. Bonjour, je m'appelle Mélise et je suis accro aux chaussettes !J'aime pratiquement autant les tricoter que les porter, ce qui explique pourquoi je ne peux pas résister à une belle laine à chaussette ou à un joli patron. Those I've knit for my sister for her birthday (which is December 22nd, so yes, the Christmas yarn is relevant!). The yarn is Woll Butt... [Lire la suite]

Psittakos shawl / Le châle Psittakos

Have you noticed how when you knit a lot of Ravelry patterns, you tend to give names to your clothes? I'm always like "I'm going to wear my Aibrean today" or "My Merlot would go really well with this outfit"!! Us knitters must sound like mad people!Anyways…I wanted to show you the shawl I've knit for my mother-in-law (she's very knitworthy, that's why you often see her around here!). It was a Christmas gift that I started in october (and finished in time for Christmas) as part of a knit along organised by the designer, Melina from In... [Lire la suite]

felted slippers / chaussons feutrés

As my mum was telling me a couple of hours ago on the phone, it's high time I present you what I've made in terms of Christmas presents! And there were a few things! This year it was definitely the felted slippers year! No? You didn't notice? Well it was!!!!I got the idea I don't know where, probably from inside my head! I wanted to make warm slippers for my sis, but didn't like the concept where you buy leather soles and attack your knitting to it (maybe that's not clear… oh well!). I thought about felted slippers and was a bit lost... [Lire la suite]

Villiviini socks/Chaussettes Villiviini

I still don't know if my Villiviini socks have been successful or if the have failed winning in any of the many kals I have entered them. But one thing is for certain, it's that they are finished and I absolutely LOVE them ! They are just the right amount of quirky and very comfy to wear.I was a bit afraid they would be scratchy as I have knitted them in a very inexpensive yarn, Drops Fabel (only 2 € per 50g ball!), which is 75% wool, 25% polyamide. But no! They are far from being as soft as those lovely merino-based indie dyer's... [Lire la suite]

Villiviini socks & KALs

Hey guys! I don't know why but October has seen the ermergence of a plethora of knit alongs! YAY! So this month, I'm knitting (among other things) the Villiviini socks, a free pattern by Tiina Kuu. It is a rather intriguing pattern as it makes you work intarsia in the round, which I have never done. Because October is also very Halloweeny, I've decided to knit them in orange and black, and because Halloween is supposed to be scary, I've decided to add a 3rd color: white! So my Villiviini socks will (if everything goes smoothly)... Sock collection 2

The sock craze carries on!!!Here are a few patterns I've made in the months before Summer. (I knooooow, I'm laaaaaate!) La folie chaussettesque continue !Voici les modèles tricotés dans les mois juste avant l'été. (Je saaaaais, je suis à la bouuuuurre !)   Ianira socks: a pattern I have tested for Letipanda. They are knitted in Woola Oops sock yarn, 75% superwask merino 25% nylon, colourway écume. This yarn is very soft but a bit "limp". The colour is lovely but doesn't do justice to the very intricate pattern. Chaussettes... [Lire la suite]

Liam's Hyphen cardigan/Gilet Hyphen pour Liam

Here is a little something I've knitted for my baby boy. First, a little background story… I have this huge stash of acrylic blend yarn that I've bought along the years to knit stuff for my kids. Now that I've discovered the pure joy of wearing merinos wool, I don't want to use acrylic for my garments, but it's quite handy for the kids: you can wash it in the washing machine and it will last long in spite of the ill treatment.I have finally decided it is high time to use my stash, partly because it takes a lot of room, partly because... Socks sisters/Sœurs de chaussettes

As I told you before, my sister fell in love with my cup of tea socks. So I decided to knit her a pair. At the same time, I discovered thanks to  Fille d'hiver's podcast that there was a really cool KAL that was juste beginning on Ravelry called les 12 petons du Herr General : you have to knit 12 pairs of socks in a year. What a coincidence! I had just decided that 2016 would be the year of the Sock! So I suscribed immediately and this pair is my 1st of the 12.It is made with the free pattern my cup of tea socks with... [Lire la suite]
