After months of watching all the podcaster talking about and showing off their shawls, I've finally made one!I had bought one skein of Madelinetosh tosh sock in the violas colorway in order to make luxury socks for my delicate feet. But before I began my project, I heard a podcaster saying that sock yarn had to contain some nylon if you wanted to wear your socks on a regular basis. So I decided to buy another skein in a contrasting colour to knit a shawl and I chose "pop rocks" (bright pink). After debating which shawl to make for a... [Lire la suite]

Here is a little something I've knitted for my baby boy. First, a little background story… I have this huge stash of acrylic blend yarn that I've bought along the years to knit stuff for my kids. Now that I've discovered the pure joy of wearing merinos wool, I don't want to use acrylic for my garments, but it's quite handy for the kids: you can wash it in the washing machine and it will last long in spite of the ill treatment.I have finally decided it is high time to use my stash, partly because it takes a lot of room, partly because... I always watch Anne's knitting/sewing podcasts, and in one of them, she had the idea of creating a thread in her Ravelry group to help people find NSPs (Non Secret Pals). The concept is quite simple (and not new, I know!!): you find someome with roughly the same interests as you and you send each other gifts. Sort of like a swap, but you do it regularly.I really wanted to try that, so I went to the thread and found myself a great NSP!!!! Our first swap was to take place at the end of July. We had decided on a small parcel with... [Lire la suite]

I've been meaning to write about this for ages! Time flies!A couple of months back, I've made a new summer hat for Raphaelle thanks to the book Chapeaux & cie by Kunko Okabe. She's been wearing it a lot. It really fits her head and doesn't fall when she runs, jumps, etc. And I used gingham and Liberty (lawn) fabrics so it's very light to wear. In a word, YAY!!! Ça fait des plombes que je voulais écrire un article là-dessus ! Le temps passe trop vite c'est horrible !Il y a 2 mois, j'ai fait un chapeau d'été pour Raphaëlle grâce au... [Lire la suite]

In a former post, I had told you about a yarn bombing project of mine. Well, it's finished and in place! Last Sunday took place the teatime concert my friends have organised and my piece brought about the element of decoration and fun my friends wanted. Perfect! It all worked so well that I'm making another one for their next event (on July 3rd), where I'll hold a yarn bombing workshop! Can't wait! Dans un autre article, je vous parlais d'un projet de yarn bombing que j'avais. Eh bien il est terminé et installé ! Dimanche dernier, le... [Lire la suite]

Summer is coming. Not right now, but it is!And of course, my girl has grown a bunch and outgrown nearly all of her summer clothes. So I took advantage of a little week without work and made her a few things with fabrics from my stash. (Take that, ever growing stash!)

As I've told you before, I'm taking part in a sock KAL called Les 12 petons du Herr General. And I've been quite efficient! Check it out! Comme je vous l'ai déjà dit, je participe au Kal de Letipanda, Les 12 petons du Herr General. Et j'ai été plutôt productive, regardez ! Here is the Kalajoki pattern by Tiina Partanen. It's free, but if you're knitting your firts sock ever, I'd advise you to choose another pattern, it's not great… The yarn is Kunstgarn, and I'm not pleased with it either. There were 2 knots in the same... [Lire la suite]
