Sock collection

As I've told you before, I'm taking part in a sock KAL called Les 12 petons du Herr General. And I've been quite efficient! Check it out! Comme je vous l'ai déjà dit, je participe au Kal de Letipanda, Les 12 petons du Herr General. Et j'ai été plutôt productive, regardez !   Here is the Kalajoki pattern by Tiina Partanen. It's free, but if you're knitting your firts sock ever, I'd advise you to choose another pattern, it's not great… The yarn is Kunstgarn, and I'm not pleased with it either. There were 2 knots in the same... [Lire la suite]

Mini artist bag/Mini sac d'artiste

Ever since I've made the Artist bag for my niece, my daughter has been pining for one of her own. But my girl is still quite little, so I didn't want to make her the big version because it wouldn't be practical to use in the car. And we spend a LOT of time in the car, especially on holidays, because our family lives far away. So I designed this smaller version, and I'm very happy about it. I used my gorgeous Odile Bailloeul fabric too! (That's the cat one.)Raphaelle was over the moon when I gave it to her and she used it right away... [Lire la suite]

Socks sisters/Sœurs de chaussettes

As I told you before, my sister fell in love with my cup of tea socks. So I decided to knit her a pair. At the same time, I discovered thanks to  Fille d'hiver's podcast that there was a really cool KAL that was juste beginning on Ravelry called les 12 petons du Herr General : you have to knit 12 pairs of socks in a year. What a coincidence! I had just decided that 2016 would be the year of the Sock! So I suscribed immediately and this pair is my 1st of the 12.It is made with the free pattern my cup of tea socks with... [Lire la suite]

Yarn bombing #1 / Tricoffiti #1

For those who are not yet aware of it, there has been a revolution in the knitting world a few years back. It's called yarn bombing and it appeared in 2005. The concept is simple: you mix knitting with street art and a good dose of humour and you get some wicked yarn bombing!!!

Knee holes… / Des trous aux genoux…

Today is a say-stop-to-sexism blog post and here's why.I've often heard people say that girls are more careful with their clothes than boys. Yeah well, my own exeperience with my four year old strongly refutes that comment. Because you see, in ONE week, she brought back three knee holes in her trouser!!!! THREE!!!! In ONE week!!! Aujourd'hui, je vous fais un article antimysoginie. Ça doit être la journée de la femme qui m'a inspirée.J'ai souvent entendu que les filles étaient plus soigneuses que les garçons avec leurs vêtements. Eh... [Lire la suite]

My first pair of socks / Ma première paire de chaussettes

My sister came over for the holidays and it was GREAT! It was also the occasion for her to see my handknitted socks in real life, and she fell in love with them, so I'm definitely going to make her a pair. I also showed her the first pair of socks I've ever knitted. It was a few (3?) years back. I chose the pattern By the Seine river by Dona Knits (in English and in French, free on Ravelry) and used the yarn Perfection by Bergère de France in a bright pink coulour (they don't make it anymore). The socks knitted... [Lire la suite]

Sock it! / Trouver chaussette à son pied

Yay I did it! I finally used a knitting pattern in English!I've been willing to try it for quite some time, but never found the gut to actually do it. I was afraid it would make knitting stressful, when I knit only for my pleasure and because I find it very relaxing. But let's be honest, there are a lot more patterns in English than in French out there. So I finally took the jump with a sock pattern I found on Ravery, called My cup of tea socks. The pattern is very detailed and was easy to follow. I used the Malabrigo sock... [Lire la suite]
