Socks! / Des chaussettes !

Just before Christmas, my good friend Elke gave my daughter a pair of bright red socks handknitted by her grandmother. Raphaelle LOVED them. So much so that she didn't want to take them off, literally! So I decided it was high time I learned how to knit socks. I knitted a pair for me last year but I was following a pattern and didn't really understand the principle of it all.
So first I found a good tutorial (and here I can't thank enough the wonderful owners of the shop where I buy all my notions, because they gave me the tutorial for free), then I picked two colors in my ginormous yarn stash, bought a set of bamboo double pointed needles (my 1st time ever with bamboo needles and I loved it) and finally I did it, I knitted a pair of stripey socks for my girl, and you know what? She loves them!!!!

Juste avant Noël, ma copine Elke a donné à ma fille une paire de chaussettes rouge vif tricotées par sa grand-mère. Raphaëlle les a ADORÉES. À tel point qu'elle ne voulait plus les enlever, vraiment ! J'ai donc décidé qu'il était grand temps que j'apprenne à tricoter des chaussettes. Je m'en suis déjà tricoté une paire l'an dernier, mais je suivais un modèle et je n'avais pas vraiment capté le principe de base.
Donc dans un premier temps, j'ai trouvé un bon tuto (et là, je dis un grand merci aux super proprios de la mercerie dont je suis une habituée pour m'avoir donné gratos les explications), ensuite j'ai choisi deux couleurs dans mon énormissime stock de laine, j'ai acheté un jeu d'aiguilles 2,5 en bambou (c'était la 1re fois que je tricotais avec des aiguilles en bambou et j'ai trouvé ça top), et enfin, j'ai réussi, j'ai tricoté à ma fille une pair de chaussettes rayées, et vous savez quoi ? Elle les adore !!!!
